Great Things Are Happening At Arizona State University

If you or your children are looking for a school where they can spread their wings and fly, explore new realms that no other public university offers them, it’s time to find out more about Arizona State University. ASU has thrust itself headlong into a new world when it comes to education. The University currently has over sixty eight thousand students enrolled in courses at four campuses and through online classes as well. ASU is creating a new breed of professional and the world needs to see what’s going on in Tempe.

The current President and board of the university have realized that no longer can individuals get ahead by merely completing coursework that revolves around text books. Not only have they taken learning out of the classroom and out into the world on an international level, they’ve seen the future and know that today’s economy calls for new, exciting ways for people to create their own paths in the future.

With a faculty that holds honors and awards as distinguished as the Nobel Peace Prize, it’s not difficult to fathom that ASU has the upper hand on diversity when it comes to faculty. Where else would you find such a vast array of professionals who have devoted their lives to higher learning?

ASU begun in 1885 as a high school called Tempe Normal School and was later converted into a public university with the passing of a law through the House by John Samuel Armstrong. Under President Arthur John Matthews, the conversion took place smoothly and the University hasn’t looked back, since. Not even during the Depression did the school lose site of the future.

Arizona State is devoted to serving its surrounding communities. They believe that anyone who wants to attend a public university should have the flexibility to do so. With a liberal admissions policy that guarantees admission to any student from Arizona who is in the top fifty percent of their high school graduating class, the school does maintain standards that keep the student population diverse and culturally vast.

The current University President, Michael M. Crow was appointed in 2001 and has set Arizona State University at the forefront of modern technology and innovation in education. He has set forth a design for implementation over the course of years to introduce ASU as “the new American University.” Thus far, his attempts are successful.

Arizona State University offers a wide range of study disciplines, allowing students to obtain degrees in all levels of education. Once believed to be predominantly a teaching college, ASU now offers degrees in a wide range of focuses and continues to expand their programs on an annual basis. Students attending the Arizona State University are poised to be the leaders in their industry upon graduation due to this new method of learning.
